About Aussie Pool Guide
Aussie Pool Guide is an independent website for Australian pool owners. We write plain-English guides on keeping a backyard pool clean, safe and balanced, and on choosing equipment such as robotic pool cleaners, with Australian conditions in mind: pebblecrete finishes, salt chlorinators, gum leaves, storm season and long, hot summers.
How we research
- Specifications come from the source. When we quote a product spec, we take it from the manufacturer's own website, spec sheet or manual, and we link to it.
- We don't invent testing. We only say we've tested something if we actually have. Most of our product guides compare published specifications against real-world pool problems, and we say so on the page.
- No made-up prices. Prices change constantly, so we send you to the retailer or brand to check the current price.
- Chemistry follows published guidance. Water chemistry targets are based on Australian state health department guidance, and we always tell you to follow product labels and manufacturer instructions.
- We update pages. Each guide shows when it was last updated. If you spot something out of date or wrong, please let us know.
How we use automation and AI
We're a small, independent team, and we use software tools (including AI writing and research assistants) to help us gather sources, draft and format guides, and make our Pinterest graphics. Every guide is checked against its listed sources before it's published: product specifications must match the manufacturer's page or manual, water chemistry targets must match published Australian health department guidance, and we don't publish prices, ratings or testing claims we can't back up. Each guide lists its sources at the bottom so you can check them yourself.
